New Banksy Piece Spotted in Bristol, UK

Following from a recent hoax alleging Banksy‘s arrest, a new piece has surfaced in the iconic street artist’s hometown of Bristol, UK. In usual fashion, Banksy took to his webpage to unveil the rendition. Titled The Girl with the Pierced Eardrum, the satirical piece is a parody of Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring. Painted via Banksy’s trademark stencil approach and the help of a fire extinguisher, the artwork cleverly features the building wall’s alarm bell as the girl’s earpiece and was created in a district where many local art and music studios reside. After Banksy posted the images online, the piece was quickly defaced with a splash of black paint. Check out The Girl with the Pierced Eardrum above and share your thoughts below.

Pharrell is set to star in an upcoming Chanel film by iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. Following news of Pharrell’s musical collaboration with Cara Delevingne, who is also starring in the film and debuting a new song, Lagerfeld has reached out to the music artist to appear in a screening for Chanel’s annual Métiers d’Art collection in December, which serves to highlight the craftsmanship of its ateliers. Details on the film’s content and storyline are not currently known, however, the combination of Pharrell and Delevingne should make for a worthy opener to this year’s Chanel pre-fall collection show. The Chanel film is set to debut on December 2 at an 18th-century Austrian palace, Schloss Leopoldskron, as fashion and music audiences anticipate the visual treatment.

Hamburg-based creative studio NPIRE has come up with an unusual way to divide up parts of its headquarters. Rather than using the conventional method of putting up a plasterboard wall, the people at NPIRE have used 55,000 LEGO pieces to divide the kitchen and hallway spaces. The LEGO wall stands 2.8 meters high and 3 meters wide, and adds a colorful aesthetic to its monotone surroundings. It can also be easily dismantled and moved to another location.
